This is one time when a Mercury retrograde phase has turned out to be a real advantage. Mercury retrograde phases have a bad rap, putting the brakes on, creating delays, setback and even mixed messages, misunderstandings and mistakes. The first Mercury retrograde phase of 2020 was no exception but weeks after it ended this is turning out to be a stunning advantage. Mercury returned to your work sector in early February for what should have been a 14 day visit aimed at giving you the intellectually savvy edge needed to work smarter and make choices, decisions and plans. Mercury should have left in mid February, before the world changed. Mercury is back in direct motion but because of his retrograde phase he is still here and will be until later next week, allowing you to keep your head in the game and your feet on the ground. The Moon will add to this by sharpening your professional instincts, especially on Wednesday and Thursday.
At a time when there is a lot of uncertainty in the world, the professional gods are working to keep it simple on both the job and career fronts this month. It is events next month that are also helping to diminish any urgency this month and especially any pressure to make final choices, decisions and plans. The Sun left your work sector last month, as he does at this time every year. However, until Mercury leaves on 11th April, there is a chance to keep your head in the game as you tie up loose ends. Mercury returned for what should have been a 14 to 15 day visit in early February, giving you a lot more time this year. Even then, this should suggest that until Mercury finally leaves on 11th April there should be a sense of urgency developing, as you finalise your game plan and resolutions for the coming year. However, even though Mercury’s departure will leave dreamy Neptune on his own and this is when the focus shifts to the big picture and the journey, there will be little urgency. Instead, there is a call to keep your mind and your options open. That is because while this is the point in most years when Neptune is on his own and it will stay that way for the rest of the year. That is not the case this year and not just because the dwarf planet Ceres will return on 24th April. This in itself doesn’t take away the urgency, though with Ceres’ focus on updating your needs and priorities, especially in terms of job satisfaction and a sense of purpose, this could call for a change of mind over the coming months. The real reason for a lack of urgency is that Mars will return next month, opening up a whole new chapter of job potential and opportunities from mid May to the end of June. What Mercury leaves you with is everything you need for the next steps, without a need to make final decisions, mainly because you have yet to explore this year’s full potential.
