The Sun is making its first move of 2020 and it is one that he makes at this time every year, though with big implications on both fronts. The Sun’s departure from an adventurous part of your chart on Tuesday and return to your career sector is the point in each year when your new professional year officially gets going. While in previous years, with Pluto in an adventurous part of your chart since 2008 and Saturn since 2017 the spirit of adventure hasn’t gone off the boil, it has moved into the background. With Jupiter still in the first full month of his 12 month visit to your sector of adventure, travel, learning and discovery, that won’t be the case this year. At the same time, while the Sun’s return to your career sector is an ordinary event, with Saturn just two months away from his first visit in three decades and Mars his first in two years, this is the start of a major new professional chapter. Adventurous and professional forces are both becoming empowered.
January is a month where there is not only a lot of planetary activity and some major forces in play but where the shape of 2020 can already be observed. Yet for you, the shift with the most significance will be Uranus’ direct turn in Taurus on 11th January. After five months in retrograde motion, while a period of personal review is still underway at the start of the year, this is when you will feel the tide turn and the lights turn green. Yet even before that, there will be a feeling that this is going to be a good year. The sheer number of planets in an adventurous part of your chart and their friendly aspect to Uranus in Taurus, speak of the journeys waiting to be embarked on. You not only begin the year with six planets in an adventurous part of your chart but half of them are here for all but the final few days of the year. What is being promised when it comes to adventure, travel, learning and discovery really is just a taste of things to come. Yet the year also gets off to a good start professionally and fortunately with the right mix that will make it relatively easy to maintain a balance between work and play. The planetary activity on the job and career fronts is enough to offer a good start to the year on both fronts, but is not enough to offset the adventurous energy unfolding. Had it been the other way round, with six planets in either of your two professional houses and just a smattering of adventurous activity it would have been a very different story. Instead, with Venus in your career sector until 14th January, Mercury here from 17th January and the Sun from 21st January, this is just enough to get this new professional year off to a good start. In the meantime, there is also a very real chance to take your financial power back, with Mars beginning a nearly seven week visit to your financial sector from 3rd January.
