There is both a changing of the guard on the job front this week and a change in approach. Until she leaves your work sector on Tuesday, Venus is more focused on the ‘what’, as she not only works to update your wish list but to fuel your job confidence, attract opportunities and steer things in a lucrative direction. It is three days later that Mercury will return, with the intellectually savvy edge needed to get your head in the game but also to shift the focus from the ‘what’ to the ‘when, where and how’. From Mercury’s return there will be continuous planetary activity in your work sector until July, by which time a new wave of activity on the career front will be underway. This makes the gap between Venus’ departure on Tuesday and Mercury’s return on Friday a valuable chance to step back, making these two very different chapters. You will know that you have made the most of Venus’ time here if the desires and expectations she leaves you with feel more like wishful thinking.
While the year gets off to a good start on the job front it is a month of two halves and also a stepping stone towards something much bigger and bolder. Fortunately, there is a definite firebreak between the two halves of this month, creating two different chapters and a line between the two that is close enough for the right information to cross but wide enough so there is no interference. The first part of the month belongs to Venus and until she leaves your work sector on 14th January she is on a mission to fuel your job confidence, attract opportunities and steer things in a lucrative direction. Venus is all about the ‘what’ and because of what lies on the other side of the firebreak, she doesn’t have to focus on the ‘when, where and how’. This allows you to spend the first two weeks of the month wishful thinking and if when Venus leaves on 14th January you know what you want but with no idea how you are going to make it happen, let alone when or how then her time here has been a success. The firebreak is between Venus’ departure on 14th January and Mercury’s return three days later, on 17th January. This is close enough that when Mercury returns it will be to find Venus’ wish list balance pinned to the wall and with a clear sense of what you want when he returns with a chance to get your head in the game. It is just a few days later that the Sun will return and by 21st January the solar spotlight will be on your work situation, job matters and options. The Sun and Mercury have a more objective and strategic take on things. It is their job to look at things objectively, make choices, decisions and plans and in short, focus on the ‘when, where and how’. Because Venus is able to spend the first two weeks of the month on her own, this means that she can focus on the ‘what’, with tunnel vision and with no thought to the ‘when, where and how’, which the Sun and Mercury can, in turn, focus on with tunnel vision as well. This is the way you want to start a new professional year and with major new developments on the job front from March and on the career front from April, is a great first step.
