The week not only begins with the Moon wrapping up its monthly visit to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart but the New Moon that over the weekend marked the start of the month long wind down of your old solar year. No wonder then that there is the potential for a case of Mondayitis. However, the Moon’s return to Cancer on Monday will take the edge off this and also have you looking to the future. For while your birthday month and new solar year is still four weeks away, by the time the Moon leaves Cancer on Wednesday Mercury is just two days away. With no planetary activity in your sign since the middle months of 2019, Mercury’s return will be a chance to open new doors, get your head in the game and ideas on the table ahead of time. Better still, while usually only in Cancer for 14 to 15 days each year, a retrograde turn next month will keep Mercury here until August, giving you plenty of time to consider your options.
Of all the different shifts and turns this month, the one that will have the biggest impact is a change in the lunar nodes on 5th May. Since the North Node returned to Cancer in November 2018 and the South Node to your relationship sector at the same time, they have been policing a balance between your personal and relationship needs. In that time, the Moon has crossed the lunar nodes every two weeks, keeping the pressure up. While this will leave you with a better sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you, you won’t be sorry to see that pressure go. The lunar nodes are always in opposition and are always focused on balance, but they shift to an easier agenda to manage. On 5th May the North Node will return to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart where Venus is turning retrograde on 13th May and where the Sun will return, to begin the month long wind down of your old solar year on 21st May. The North Node isn’t a planet and its return here is more a chance to inspire your imagination but this will still require time to hear yourself think. Meanwhile, its partner the South Node will return to your work sector, where there is a lot of untapped job potential. This will create a lunar eclipse on the job front next month and with Mars returning to your career sector in June but not leaving until January 2021, this will see this professional year catch its second wind. The lunar nodes will always police a need for balance but from 5th May, they will finish policing a balance between your personal and relationship needs and begin the policing of a balance between knowing when to keep your work hat on and when to take it off. Meanwhile, to help with that cause you had Ceres return to an adventurous part of your chart late last month, ahead of Mars’ return on 13th May. Along with a playful Full Moon on 7th May, the clear message is that life can’t be all work and no play.
